  • The Roman gods were formless “numina”, until the influence from Greeks and Etruscans, and then some began to have shapes and bodies. The 12 major gods that were worshipped were equally male and female, thus showing equality between the genders. The twelve gods were called Dii Consentes, and led by three head gods, the Capitoline Triad.
  • The photo gallery depicts much of what has been found in Pompeii, including artifacts, frescoes, casts, and locations. One artifact was a cup that was found in Herculaneum. It was one of only a few recovered objects that were made from semi-precious stone. It was found in the Vesuvius area (by the volcano) on the beach.
  • Rome did not have any public schools, kids were educated in private schools or by slaves.
  • Rich people lived in town houses (domus) and owned a country house (villa). Average people owned apartments (cenculum).
  • rooms were heated under the floors.
  • Houses did not have kitchens, they had fires, or got prepared foods.

  • I scrolled down the main website on the wikispace that listed the homework. Then I looked at all the headings until I found an interesting subject, and then I went through the title names, and clicked a couple links. Finally, I found one I wanted to read and read the article, using the pictures as a reference.

  • I found some very interesting and thorough information about Zeus and at the end of the information was a list of references. I followed the references, and they were back up by even more research. I feel that if each author used all of their research, and then combined it together, then it should be substantial and hopefully correct. The website ended in '.org' meaning an organization. There were links to other cites to explain concepts.
